USCIS Update

USCIS has introduced the E-COA self-service tool to streamline address updates for pending applications, petitions, and requests. The Enterprise Change of Address (E-COA) self-service tool is designed to simplify the process of updating your address with USCIS, especially for individuals with pending applications, petitions, or requests.

E-COA: The Ultimate Address Update Solution

E-COA is set to become the go-to platform for most individuals with a USCIS online account. With this tool, you can effortlessly update your mailing and physical address for pending applications, petitions, or requests – all in one place. Gone are the days of navigating multiple forms, dealing with paper AR-11, making phone calls to the Contact Center, or visiting a USCIS Field or Asylum Office. E-COA simplifies the entire process, making it faster and more efficient for USCIS customers.

What E-COA Automates

E-COA is engineered to automate address changes for nearly all form types. Foreign Nationals without pending applications, petitions, or requests can also make use of the E-COA tool to fulfill their requirement to notify USCIS of a change of address. Whether your pending case was submitted online or by mail, you can access the E-COA tool via your USCIS online account.

Special Considerations

Individuals protected under 8 USC 1367, including those with pending or approved applications or petitioners for Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) benefits, T nonimmigrant status, or U nonimmigrant status and their beneficiaries or derivatives, cannot utilize E-COA during the initial phase. However, represented applicants or petitioners with VAWA, T, or U-related cases can request a change of address through designated email addresses, as specified in the Inquiries for VAWA, T, and U Filings section. Unrepresented individuals with VAWA, T, or U-related cases can also request a change of address by following the instructions provided on the How to Change Your Address webpage.

How to Use the E-COA Tool

To harness the benefits of the E-COA tool, individuals will need a USCIS online account. The process involves entering your last name, date of birth, and your new physical and mailing addresses. USCIS encourages individuals to include information about their pending application, petition, or request to expedite the process.

Important Note

Remember that changing your address with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will not automatically update your address with USCIS. You must use the E-COA tool to ensure that your address is up-to-date for all USCIS-related matters.
