Richards and Jurusik seek a detail-oriented and highly organized Immigration Paralegal to join our team. This role involves assisting attorneys in handling U.S. and Canadian immigration matters, including visa applications, naturalization, family-based immigration, and business immigration compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in immigration law, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

Visa Applications and Government Compliance:
- Prepare and file U.S. visa applications, including B-1, B-2, L-1, and H-1B visas, as well as Canadian entry forms.
- Ensure all applications comply with immigration laws and regulations, tracking deadlines, and required documentation.

Citizenship and Naturalization Support:
- Assist in preparing and filing N-400 applications for U.S. naturalization.
- Support attorneys in advising clients on dual citizenship considerations and renunciation cases.

Immigration Contracts and Compliance:
- Assist in drafting and reviewing immigration-related contracts, including employment agreements for foreign nationals.
- Help maintain compliance documentation for multinational corporations and business immigration matters.

Business and Tourism Visa Support:
- Assist with applications for temporary U.S. (B-1/B-2) and Canadian visas for business and tourism travel.
- Support attorneys in researching and advising on NAFTA/USMCA-related travel implications.

Family-Based Immigration Assistance:
- Prepare and file family-based immigration petitions, including spousal visas, fiancé(e) (K-1) visas, and adjustment of status applications.
- Assist with document certification, translations, and communication with clients.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience as an immigration paralegal in a law firm setting.
- Strong understanding of U.S. immigration laws, forms, and procedures.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal research tools, and case management software.
