On May 24, 2022, USCIS unveiled a significant development in premium processing services for specific Form I-140 Immigration Petitions. This expansion aims to provide expedited processing for certain categories of foreign workers, offering quicker resolution times. Here’s a detailed look at the key aspects of this announcement:

Covered Categories

The expansion of premium processing is applicable to petitioners with pending Form I-140 Petitions in the following categories:

  1. Multinational Executives and Managers
  2. Members of Professions with Advanced Degrees or Exceptional Ability
  3. National Interest Waiver (NIW) Petitions

Implementation Dates

The rollout of premium processing for the specified categories will occur in two phases:

  1. Effective June 1, 2022:
    • USCIS will begin accepting Form I-907 requests for Multinational Executive and Manager petitions received on or before January 1, 2021.
  2. Effective July 1, 2022:
    • USCIS will commence accepting Form I-907 requests for National Interest Waiver (NIW) petitions received on or before June 1, 2021.
    • Multinational Executive and Manager petitions received on or before March 1, 2021, will also be eligible for premium processing.

How to Apply for Premium Processing

If your case falls within the specified categories and timeframes, you can request premium processing by filing Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing, with USCIS. Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria before initiating the process.
