The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has officially announced that the initial registration period for the 2024 H-1B Visa cap will open at noon Eastern Time on March 1, 2023, and close at 5 pm Eastern Time on March 20, 2023. This crucial window marks an essential opportunity for prospective petitioners and their representatives to submit their H-1B registrations.
Key Dates and Procedures for H-1B Visa Lottery Registration
- Registration Period: The window to register for the H-1B Visa Lottery starts at noon Eastern Time on March 1, 2023, and ends at 5 pm Eastern Time on March 20, 2023. It’s imperative for prospective petitioners to prepare in advance to ensure timely submission.
- Account Creation for Registration: Starting from noon Eastern on February 21, registrants can create new accounts in the myUSCIS online platform. This step is crucial for facilitating the subsequent registration process.
- Adding Beneficiaries: Representatives can add their clients to their accounts at any time. However, beneficiary information can only be entered and submitted with the $10 fee starting from March 1, 2023.
- Notification of Selection: Post March 20th, if USCIS receives sufficient registrations, they will randomly select the candidates. USCIS will then notify account holders of the selection status through their myUSCIS accounts by March 31. If the number of registrations is below the cap limit, all properly submitted registrations will automatically be selected.
Importance of Early Preparation
Given the competitive nature of the H-1B Visa Lottery, early preparation and understanding the registration process are crucial. Employers and their representatives should gather all necessary information and documents well before the registration opening to ensure a seamless and error-free submission.
Stay Informed and Ready
Keep abreast of any updates or changes to the process through the official USCIS website or communications. Being informed and prepared is key to successfully navigating the H-1B Visa Lottery registration process.
