On May 24, 2022, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) made a crucial announcement, signaling an expansion of premium processing for certain pending Form I-140 Immigration Petitions. This development specifically targets foreign workers falling under the EB-1 (Multinational Executives and Managers) and EB-2 (Members of Professions with Advanced Degrees or Exceptional Ability) categories, along with National Interest Waiver (NIW) petitions.

Who Benefits from This Expansion?

This premium processing expansion caters to petitioners with pending Form I-140 petitions for:

  1. Multinational Executives and Managers
  2. Members of Professions with Advanced Degrees or Exceptional Ability
  3. National Interest Waiver (NIW) Petitions

When Will the Expansion Take Effect?

  • The rollout of this expansion follows a phased approach:Starting June 1, 2022: USCIS will accept Form I-907 requests for Multinational executive and manager petitions received on or before Jan. 1, 2021.
  • Starting July 1, 2022: USCIS will begin accepting Form I-907 requests for National Interest Waiver (NIW) petitions received on or before June 1, 2021, and Multinational executive and manager petitions received on or before March 1, 2021.

How to Apply for Premium Processing

Petitioners meeting the specified criteria can expedite their pending cases by filing Form I-907, the Request for Premium Processing, with USCIS. This additional option aims to streamline the adjudication process for those seeking timely resolution of their immigration petitions.
