Facial Biometric Test Launched at Buffalo’s Peace Bridge POE
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has launched a facial biometric pilot program at the Peace Bridge Port of Entry in Buffalo, NY. This test automates identity verification for travelers arriving in the U.S. by vehicle, using advanced biometric technology in select lanes. Travelers can opt out by using non-biometric lanes. The pilot runs through March 2025 to evaluate the system’s performance in winter conditions.
