This means:
- COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required for U.S. immigrant visa approval.
- Panel physicians will not assess visa applicants based on COVID-19 vaccination status.
- U.S. embassies and consulates will not refuse an immigrant visa for lack of COVID-19 vaccination documentation.
Who Does This Affect?
- New immigrant visa applicants: No need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination during the medical exam.
- Previously denied applicants: If your only reason for ineligibility was missing COVID-19 vaccination proof, you may request a new medical exam at no cost.
How to Get a New Medical Exam
If your visa was previously denied only due to lack of COVID-19 vaccination proof, you should:
- Contact the U.S. embassy or consulate where you applied.
- Request a new medical exam from the designated panel physician.
