USCMA - NAFTA

TN Visa status is work authorization issued under the US-Mexican Canada Agreement (USCMA). The USMCA replaces the previous North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). TN Visa status is available to both Canadian citizens  (TN-1) and Mexican citizens (TN-2) working in the United States under any of the designated TN professions. Once your TN visa status has been issued, you will be authorized to work and live in the USA. You are also able to travel on your TN Visa.

Can I travel on my TN Visa?

TN visa status can be approved for as little as 1 day and up to 3 years at a time and can be renewed indefinitely with no limits on renewals or extensions. A TN visa is also a multiple-entry visa. This means that during the validity of your TN Visa status you are able to travel as much as needed inside or outside the United States without limit. Whether you need to travel for personal or employment reasons, TN visa status is flexible allowing you to spend as little or as much time as you need inside the United States as long as you maintain your status.
