Multiple TN Visas

Can I have multiple TN visas at a time and work for multiple employers while on TN visa status? It is possible to hold multiple TN visas and work for multiple employers at the same time while in TN visa status.

Multiple TN visas for Multiple Employers or Clients

In order to work for multiple employers at the same time, you must obtain a TN visa for each employer. The most common scenario where multiple TN visas are required is for persons entering the United States to fill two or more part-time positions with separate employers. There is no requirement that TN visa holders hold a full-time position. This allows persons with multiple part-time positions to obtain multiple TN visas, one for each employer. We also see the need for multiple TN visas with TN Management Consultants and TN visa holders working as independent contractors for multiple clients.

Multiple TN visas, how to apply?

The TN visa application process for obtaining multiple TN visas is the same as the process for obtaining a single TN visa. If you have the paperwork to support each position at the time of the submission of your TN visa application, you can obtain them at the same time at a U.S. port of entry. If adequately supported, multiple TN visas can be approved on the spot.

If you are already in the United States on a TN visa and want to add an additional TN visa employer (concurrent employment), this can be done by filing Form I-129 by mail with USCIS.
